The smallest political boundary in New York State is the Election District. Your election district should be written on your voter registration card, and you can look it up here. Besides determining where you vote, election districts provide the basis of our party structure.
In Rensselaer County, and most of New York, each election district elects two members to sit on the County Committee for their party. These 242 people, representing theĀ 121 Election Districts in Rensselaer County decide who the party should endorse for political office. We have a vision of them serving as a distributed bridge between the people and their elected officials on an ongoing basis as well, in order to help make sure our local governments are agile, responsive, and effective.
Election District maps for each city and town in the county can be found below. We are working on getting an up to date map for Schodack.
